Here you can find history of recent versions of iPi Recorder.
iPi Recorder has built-in auto update functionality. Auto update feature is configured so that checks for update are made once per day. It helps to reduce the start time of the application. If you want to update ASAP - you can use the tools -> check for update menu item.
Note that both these features require Internet connection. Alternatively (in case of troubles with auto update), you can download and run the updated installation program from our website.

- Support for Nintendo Wii Remote Plus motion controller
- Moved to Microsoft Kinect SDK 1.6
- Warning. Kinect SDK 1.6 should be installed to get support for Kinects with this version of iPi Recorder.
- Start/stop recording using a motion controller. Hold the button for a couple of seconds to toggle recording. Also works when starting background evaluation.
- Start button on PS Move
- A button on Wii Remote
- Indication of battery charge level for motion controllers
- Sequential background evaluation for depth sensors. This removes infrared interference effects on background picture.

- Device-specific parameters are obtained for each depth sensor and written to iPiVideo file during recording. This gives high accuracy of aligning depth and color images in iPi Mocap Studio. Implemented both for Microsoft Kinect and ASUS Xtion Live.
- Opening video in iPi Mocap Studio with one click.
- Each recorded or converted video file in addition to existed Play button now has Open In Studio button (icon is letter "S"). Press this button, and (if installed) iPi Mocap Studio will launch with the New Project wizard open for the selected video file.

- Frame drops statistics were not counted properly for ASUS Xtions.

- Preventing from going to screensaver/stand by mode. Works for Recorder (starting from Setup stage), Player (when playing), Converter (only standby, when converting).
- JPEG compression is supported for all source camera image formats. Also its performance is improved.
- Note 1. JPEG compression reduces quality of source image. For color cameras (not depth sensors), use it only when really necessary (e.g. your system is low on disk space or writing speed).
- Note 2. PS Eye videos recorded with JPEG compression would not be read with iPi Mocap Studio prior to version 2.0.0.137. Please ensure you have updated to compatible version.
- Improved performance for PS Eye recording.
- Default folder for storing recorded videos is set to user's documents folder.
- Note. By an oversight, in previous versions default folder was set to iPi Recorder's installation folder. That is something like C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\B5TATZ4A.47Z\CN6K71PK.J0W\ipir..tion_dd200afcf7b6b7ee_0002.0000_c0485bd65ddfb5d4 (on Windows Vista/7) or C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Apps\2.0\B5TATZ4A.47Z\CN6K71PK.J0W\ipir..tion_dd200afcf7b6b7ee_0002.0000_c0485bd65ddfb5d4 (on Windows XP). Path parts after Apps\2.0 contain some "random" characters defined by specific system installation. In case you did not change that default folder, your records might be deleted when updating or uninstalling iPi Recorder. To be on the safe side, please check if you still have .iPiVideo or .iPiMocap files somewhere under mentioned ...\Apps\2.0 folder and, if found any, move them to some "normal" location.
- More reliable counting of frame drops.
- Improved error handling.

- Fixed the issue causing crash during recording (see [1]).
- Fixed the issue causing hang up during conversion of certain AVI files (see [2]).

- Improved speed performance for the Background subtraction compression method, and depth channel compression. This should help to resolve frame drops issues that some users experience when recording, especially from PS Eye cameras.
- WARNING. iPi Mocap Studio prior to version 2.0.0.132 may not open videos recorded with this release of iPi Recorder. Ensure that you're using the latest version of iPi Mocap Studio (see version info in Help -> About window). In case you need an update, try restarting application (an automatic update should launch), or download and run the latest installer from the downloads page at our website. Videos recorded with previous versions of iPi Recorder can still be opened by any version of iPi Mocap Studio.

- Check for version update from the application. To check, open the tools menu and click the CHECK FOR UPDATE button. If update is detected, you will be prompted to manually restart the application to perform an update.
B U G F I X E S:
- Fixed freezing when detecting available cameras after calibration mode was used with PS Eye cameras. This issue is discussed in [3].
- Restored support for PSDRV3 drivers for Kinect on Windows 7, which was silently removed in the previous release. Sorry for inconvenience, folks. However, we strongly recommend to use Kinect SDK for recording with Kinects on Windows 7. This issue is discussed in [4].

- Added the tools menu. It is located in the top-right corner, where previously the version number was displayed. Currently, the menu contains the version number and the SHOW TRACE button.
- Added functionality for displaying the program trace and saving it to a file. To display trace window, press the SHOW TRACE button located under the tools menu. Program trace contains diagnostic messages produced by software. When iPi Recorder is not working properly, you can save the trace and attach to your issue report. It may help us in investigation of the issue.
- Some performance improvements.
